Omni-Rig is a COM-component for controlling the transceiver (or
receiver) using the CAT. It is distributed as Freeware. As an integral part it
is also included into the Band Master. Description files for
transceivers are external (not embedded in the body of the executable),
so each user can create its own ini file describing the
CAT commands for a new radio. Existing descriptions:
Omni-Rig
settings window: Hint: reduce
the value of Poll int. to accelerate response. Most transceivers work fine even
at 100 ms.
If
the necessary file is not listed, you can create your own file,
following the model which already exists for such apparatus. After testing the
resulting file and making sure of the full Omni-Rig
performance with your transceiver, send its VE3NEA to include your
transceiver in the list.
